Objective

1. To enhance social protection through reducing community’s exposure to risks under ramifications of protracted refugee crisis.

2. Improve the ability to navigate physical hazards after dark (hillsides, waterways, bridges, sewers, vegetation, other shelter and dangerous animals).

3. Reduce the risk of gender-based violence (GBV) due including ensures safe and dignified access of women and girls to WASH facilities after dark.

2,415 (m-1,180, f-1,235) person with specific needs and others.

Major activities

  •  Advocacy Meeting with Camp In-charge on “Promoting Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods for Rohingya Women in Bangladesh”. The total advocacy event with Camp in-charge will be 03 locations: Camp 3, 4, 22.
  • Advocacy Meeting with local govt (Chairman, UP counsellors) on “Promoting Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods for Women in Bangladesh”. This advocacy event with local govt members will be in Hnila host area, Teknaf.
  • Advocacy Meeting with Local Government at Cox’s Bazar level (e.g. RRRC, DC, and ADC) on “Strengthening Social Protection for Host Women in Bangladesh”.
  • Distribution of essential protection NFIs (Non-Food Items): HH lighting devices (desk lamp and or handheld torch light)
  • Community consultation on identification and preference of HH Solar light (e;g. elderly male and female, person with disability, community leaders etc.)

Prime Objective

To improve women and girls’ access to resources and opportunities by increasing individual and collective capacity through the practice of a transformative leadership within a safe and enabling environment.

Specific Objective

  • Empowerment of women through leadership development.

  • Increase knowledge of women and men on gender issues, GBV, human rights.
  • Increase livelihood and life-skills of women and girls through creating job opportunities.

Whykong Union of Teknaf, Holdyapalong Union of Ukhiya, Zilongja Union & partly Pourashava of Cox’s Bazar Sadar under Cox’s Bazar District.

  • Support for women leaders through a customized program with technical advisory, capacity, linkages and network
